FAQS

WHERE DO I GO TO REGISTER AS A NEW MEMBER?

I LOST MY INVITATION. WHAT DO I DO?

Contact us through our email goldnkey@ualberta.ca and let us know so we can contact Ian Sankey (Golden Key Director of Canada) to send you a new one.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES DOES THE LOCAL CHAPTER HAVE THAT I COULD PARTICIPATE IN?

We have different levels of involvement here at GK. For positions, we have the executive team and the faculty representatives. All of our projects are guided by our pillars of academics, leadership, and service. Some longstanding projects are the Alberta Academic Review Interdisciplinary Student's Journal and the Golden Mentors program. We have an average of 3-4 service events a semester that provide plenty of volunteer experience with organizations such as Kids Kottage, Canadian Blood Services, Edmonton Humane Society, and more. Check out our other pages to look at previous projects and get an idea of what events we have every year that members can be involved with.

CAN I COME UP WITH AN EVENT OR PROGRAM TO RUN UNDER GK?

YES! We highly encourage our members to pitch ideas they have for a project/event/program/fundraiser/etc. We want to provide a platform for members to have the financial, marketing, mentoring, and moral support for projects they want to bring to life.

WHERE CAN I GET ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON GOLDEN KEY?

I CHANGED MY ADDRESS AND I DID NOT RECEIVE AN INVITATION. HOW DO I GET IT BACK?

WHAT KIND OF SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW DO I APPLY FOR THEM?

Scholarships are available to you on two levels: the national and chapter level. Your chapter gives out 1) reimbursements for GK Summits and a chapter scholarship every year. The chapter scholarship is the most valued scholarship awarded by the chapter and it is given to members who are an excellent example of GK's three pillars of leadership, service, and academics.
On the national level, there are many other scholarships provided to members and they are listed here: https://goldenkey.org/scholarships-awards/listing/
